Why on earth

would you give whole oranges to the primary grades for lunch?

Even I struggle with peeling oranges by hand; I always cut my own. Today I was faced with a table full of 30-some 6-year-olds who needed help opening some unusually thick-skinned oranges. I smell like walking citrus.

Speaking of which – although right now I don’t ever want to see an orange again – a friend sent me this link:

Grow citrus trees in your house!

I’d love to have an orange tree in my apartment but the cold, the leaf-nibbling felines, and my own sinister houseplant-killing past makes me hesitate.
