Expensive Accessories to Monopolize a Summer Break

Upgrade

After much research and networking with photographer friends, much piggybank-counting, much tracking of package transit and checking of porches, this is me holding my first DSLR camera: a Nikon D90, with a 50mm f/1.8 lens for starters.

Of course I’ve taken a few hundred test shots around town this weekend. Just holding it is exciting. Such a tactile camera – heavy and substantial, with a satisfying shutter sound that its puny predecessor can’t quite replicate.

Now I need to stop fiddling around with it long enough to finish the grad project I need to be working on… but more fiddling and more digital evidence will follow; I guarantee it.
